Support the Game: MH3 Supporters Page
Ok, I just got the green light from Nintendo to set up the Supporter’s Page, similar to the MHFU one.
I will create it later this evening. Basically you send me an orginal picture of the gamebox with some sign showing that it’s yours (like your gamefaqs name, or yourself on the picture). I’ll put those pictures up on RotR so everybody can see who’s supporting the franchise. Show your pride.
Why? I’m getting some swag (nothing too big, so no Wii or huge statues) from Nintendo to spread the love. I’ll make a raffle every 50 entries and draw one price for a lucky winner. So, the more entries I get the more prices are there to win. Send your picture to mh3supporter@reign-of-the-rathalos.com.
See the entries, once they are starting to dribble in, here:

Capcom JP announces MHP 3rd
It seems that it will have a mix of MH3 content and MHP2G as you can see lots of MH3 monsters and Tigrex, Naruga and at least two more monsters previously unknown. Also real infrastructure is rumoured (as always).
Slated for release later this year in Japan.
UPDATE, from Sonsaru on gameFAQs:
* Weapons are GS, tachi, hammer, SnS, twin blades, gunlance, hunting horn, lance, bow, slash axe, light bow and heavy bow, as reported. All of ‘em!
* Infrastructure is in.
* It definitely isn’t Tri.
* Village is called Yukumo.
* Village chief is a beautiful, middle-aged woman (or “cougar”)
* Recepcionist is very cute – so what’s new?
* Mixed sex hot spring
* Lots of very oriental touches
* Includes the gorge area from MHF.
* Monsters are Lightening Wolf Dragon Jinouga, Aoashira, Gaava
* No underwater.
* Many things that are totally new to 3rd.
* Monsters from Tri will also appear.
* Weapons have been considerably changed.
* Not as many quests as P2G, but more than P2.
* Armor uses the skill points system.
* You take 2 cats with you.
* You can customize cat armor.
* Cat weapons can be cut or hit damage.
* A new communication element is added to deepen multiplay. Still a secret for now.
* You can use Kanji and other Japanese alphabets for character names (until now they were only in English even in the Japanese games)
* No carry over from P2G.
* All of the “promises” that a MHP game must keep, will be kept.
* P2 is not the base of the game, much of it has been totally remade.
* Monster movements and graphics have been greatly improved – images of the village, forest and volcano do look quite a bit nicer than P2.
* They want you to be thinking – “Can they really have this many monsters moving with this quality of graphics? And you can do this too…?!”
* Q – Does it feel like Tri to play? A – It isn’t P2G or Tri, but something new.
* Cat Village is out in August.
MH3: News from the US Chapter and EU too
It’s all over the place already, so forgive me my lazyness for not linking appropriate sources.
Monster Hunter Tri has now a set street release of 20th April in the United States, 23th April for the Europe and Australia. It will be offered in several bundles, incl. Wii Speak and Classic Controller Pro packages. The online fee has been scrapped, playing online will be free.
Also starting on 8th March you can get a demo disc in the US at every GameStop without preordering. Free for pickup.
The US GameStop preorder bonus will be a 500pts Wii card.
The official MH3 page is open now, with lots of cute info and that Ironbeard dude spoiling your day.

Unleash your creative juices!!
(ewwwww, no, not those ones, the other ones)
Capcom Europe is running a competition to get your name in the credits of MH Tri by either designing a new weapon for the series or by providing some exotic names for some currently anonymous weapons in the upcoming release!
Head to the Capcom forums for more details and to read the T&C’s:

MH3 Limited Edition has it.
When MH3 is released in Japan it will be packaged in the standard white-colored Wii game pack and in a Japan only limited edition. The box will look like this:
Included are a DVD with the real life orchestral performances of the MH musical score and some documentary about the producing process. Also one of three super secret Monster head statues. Can you guess who it will be?

Happy 5th Anniversary!
Straight from Japan comes the following news:
Monster Hunter will have its 5th anniversary this March. For this occasion an orchestrated version of the Monster Hunter game music will be performed live in Tokyo on May 06 with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. Awesome.
Also MH3 has been announced to be released this Summer, no specific date yet. Look at this screenshot, Grayson. You will have fun delivering this Powderstone:
And lastly: MHP2G has surpassed the 3 million units sold mark and SF2 as the best selling Capcom title (nah…not really). I think Capcom EU/US has some work to do.
