RotR

I take pretty much pride in the fact that almost every single bit on RotR, be it the MHF or MH3 sections, is created by myself, hashing together the awesome and exhausting work of others (data, the pictures of inko, FAQs, and so forth). However, due to the lack of available time I’m not able to do as much as I want.

So the amount of new things, maintenance and general innovation has grinded to a gruesome stop. And because of that I’m now looking for individuals with solid technical background on the issues of PHP, Javascript (jQuery) and DHTML and, more important, spare time which allows for tasks to be accomplished. If your train of thought leaves the mainstream once in a while it would be even better. GIMP / Photoshop skills are a nice addition.

Your mission would be, at first under my guidance, to develop the tools further, fix possible errors and create new gizmos at your leisure. There’s no timeline for RotR tools, so you are not working under pressure, but you should allocate some time for it if you decide to help me out.

You’ll get access to most of the background areas of RotR and a quick rundown on how it is designed currently, also an email adress to be used.

There’s no money to be earned, only internet fame, if there’s any at all. I’m doing the stuff because I enjoy doing it and so should you or it will be a very short enterprise.

I want to complete another subsection of the items in our datasection. I have permission by violetKIRA and HGM to use their gathering tables for data entry. However, it’s still quite a lot of work pressing the raw data into a digestible format for the SQL database.

Normally Azrael and Draconacticus are the ones doing that for RotR. Az is currently unavailable and D is working hard on the MH3 data already, also on probability maths for the luck boosters. I have my hands full designing the upcoming MH3 pages and tools, so I’m asking for help from my users again.

Your task: Transfer the HTML-tables from KIRA and HGM into an excel-sheet using a template I give to you. You can do it by hand or if you have the knowledge, with macros or scripts. You can opt to do only parts of it as it IS a lot of work involved.

To complete our Data Section’s translations I need help from native speakers of French, Italian and Spanish.

I have the in-game texts ripped, but they have control codes where the language specific special characters should be. As I have no clue which control code represents which special char I need help. Also we have some texts not from the game which would be nice if I can have them translated (without google-translate plox).

The task is very easy and should be done in sub 15 minutes. Anyone willing to help out, holler to language@reign-of-the-rathalos.com. Details will be in the answer mail.

So, yeah. Azrael talked about this some weeks ago. We want to collect one tutorial video per monster and weapon and fill it in a huge matrix (can be found at http://www.reign-of-the-rathalos.com/mhp2g-mhfu/video-tutorials/).

As of now, its empty. Please help us spotting the best video tutorials on youtube and tell us where you learned to GS a Tigrex or to LBG Yama Tsukami. The creator of the video will get full credit and we will only link to the video on youtube, nothing else. Please post here or in the comments over there!
