It has been done. The votes are cast and after long and dreary fights the one and only monster of Monster Hunter, at least for 2009, has been found.

    Four monsters have made it wading through gore and blood into the semifinals of RotR first character battle.

    The semifinalists are:

    Naruga Kuruga
    The night cougar, fast and deadly. Introduced in MHP2G he only kills hunter on the PSP. Of all the monsters in the finals he is the newcomer. But don’t expect him to be a cakewalk.

    Kushala Daora
    The Elder Dragon of the Wind, first seen in MH2 on the PS2. A very intimidating presence, blowing beast and human away.

    Rajang
    If a monster goes Super Saiyan in MH, it’s Rajang. And he has a even more angry successor in MHP2G, let’s call it Super Saiyan 2. Noted first in MH2 on the PS2.

    Lao Shan Lung
    Old Mountain Dragon. A fitting name for the great slug. While huge and loud and all that the only danger he poses on hunters is the death by falling asleep. He’s in from MH for the PS2.

    So make your first choice on the semifinals #1, where Naruga enters the Arena against Rajang.

    Which will start today. Four quarterfinal rounds with three monster each. After that the semi- and then the finals where two monster are facing each other in EPIC BATTLE AND MASSIVE DAMAGE!!!1!!1!!IOMG!!11Eleven.

    Naruga, despite being the newcomer, enters the finals. Well met, dark thing.

    This is the last round before the finals, and this time its all ~nya ~nya ~nya. I know I’m missing out on some monsters, but hey, not everybody is fit for the competition! They will show up on next years battle, for sure.
