Weapon Calculator (MHP2G)
The Weapon Calculator MHP2G Edition
Instructions:
Choose the monster, your materials availability and the weapon line you’re interested in. If you want you can also select various armor skills you intend on wearing.
Press Submit and you will see the weak spot and the preferable weapons based on their damage output against this particular wyvern in descending order (best one first).
Based on DS31′ FAQ
English data provided by TeamHGG
How this works (please read):
This is all about finding an average hit. The code takes each weapon’s possible attacks and calculates them in realistic numbers. This means for example with Longswords that it takes some slices, some stabs, some spirit-gauged attacks, meshes them all together and calculates the average hit. In the case of LS 176 different attacks are used.
The printed damage number is this average hit. If you would take the health of a monster and divide it by this average number, the result would be the number of hits needed with this particular weapon to kill the given monster.
The higher the average hit, the less attacks are needed and the better the weapon is.

Average Damage: Name
Some remarks:
- Unsheath Crit uses 95% of all hits being unsheath attacks.
- The damage displayed is only an estimation, you cannot use it for stagger calculation. Its use is to show the margin between weapons.
- If you select HR4-6 or HR7-9, Powercharm and -talon are automatically added to the equation.
- Status ailments are being considered. Paralyzed monsters take 10% more damage so that can effect the damage output. Poisoned monsters receive 120 to 350 points of damage per poisoned state, so I figured that in too. Both ailments give now a marginal boost to the damage output.
- Sharpness is fully figured in.
- Affinity is fully figured in. Changed:Affinity now plays a larger role, especially negative affinity on heavy hitting weapons (GS, Hammer). Expect Tigrex weapons to be worse.
- Hunting Horn notes are not considered as permanent damage increasing buffs.
- Gravios and Basarios open stomachs are considered as a potential additional damage spot.
- If you find any error or omission, feel free to comment it right away. I probably have some HRs wrong and probably some attack spots too.

what about the best guns
Love the new calculator can’t wait for MHFU so I can use this place more often
Hey, what’s up?
Just came by to tell you that there’s a mistake i just noticed mates. In the Dual Swords section the Vicious Tassen Dual Swords have 35% Affinity and in here it says they have 0% affinity.
Hope i helped. :]
could u add armor skill factor: unsheate atk crit on the weapon calculator? …for greatswords, thanks
could u add armor skill factor: unsheate atk crit on the weapon calculator? …for greatswords, thanks
Thanks, Rui, will look into that info.
As for unsheath crit that would assume that you almost only attack with unsheath and I don’t have it programmed that way.
But its a valid option, I will ponder it.
Checked the Garuga duals and it seems I have the correct values here with 35% for Vicious Tassen. Unless I don’t understand your problem, Rui?

Weird. When i search for the Vicious Tessen here they only show 364 attack but not the 35% affinity.
Even if it put the weapons with RA +3 Vicious Tessen only get 40% affinity and their base affinity is 35% so it would go up to 65% affinity. That is why they are a lot weaker here than they are in fact mate. ^^
Jeez, you were right, I had vicious tessen on 0% instead of 35%. Fixed now, thanks.
wooooow
nice! unsheathed crit. thanks!
Can you guys Add Vespoid Queen to Calculator Please?

WOW……………is true howling devil really that strong?
Ucamulbas GS has a thin blue sharpness not green
Yes. But that tiny bit is not enough to warrant enough hits in blue. After what? 4 hits its green.
i suppose. Anyway, need tips on what’s the best bow when fighting Fatalis at HR9.
Btw kudos to you fresh for this damage calc it has been a great help to me and my friends
It’s not a huge deal, but when I put Reckless Abandon +1 on the Magnitude (Hammer), it gives it 5% Affinity, when it’s supposed to be -5%. I don’t know how big a difference that 10% makes, but I thought it deserved a mention.
i found something wrong. the weakspot of shogun ceanataur is not head but the soft thing inside the shell
The Akantor Sharp Talons are missing the 35% affinity stat.
Arch-demon Halberd is not supposed to be in the HR4-HR6 group. It can only be made using G-rank Rajang materials, not High-rank.
Hey this is a great calculator, but I noticed one problem. When I set it for Great Sword (Charge) at HR4-6, the strongest weapons do around 250 per hit. However, when I put on Unsheathe Critical, these numbers jump down to around 120. I think the Unsheathe Critical is overpowering the Charge effect, when they should instead be combined.
Charge is not meant to be used without other GS techniques. You either have a GS unsheathe crit dedicated weapon (what the button is for) or you have a Charge dedicated weapon. It’s not the best approach as it was hacked in about 2 hours but I think it works right now.
Hey dude, calc is good, but on akantor w/ LS u put smolder dragon is in second, shouldnt ancient b there or is it just going off of HR 6 stuff only, just askin so dont jump all over me
You selected HR4-6. On HR7-9 Ancient is third.
The weakspot for green congalala for cut damage is its head according to this calc. However, according to DS31′s damage faq, it only takes more damage on its head from impact damage. It takes more cut damage on its tail. (As well as a whole bunch more ice.)
Just wanted to point this out and say thanks for the hard work that went into this calc.
Will check that, thanks.
Fixed.
fresh the Weakspot of Shogun Ceanataur blue and red is the numb inside the shell so you have to break it, head is not the weakspot
You cannot attack the weakspot for more than two hits as the crab will bury itself and find a new, now unbreakable, shell.
it will bury itself and find another shell, but it can be broken. i broke the 2 shells, because it will use 2 shells oer fight
Oh, ok. I didn’t knew that. Still, how many hits are going to place on the weakspot during a normal hunt. Not that much as you will be hitting the legs or face. I will keep the face as the place to hit.
yea not much, its pretty hard because it will keep turning
Another small error. Melting braver shows up in dual sword HR 4-6 but it is a HR 9 weapon. (requires gravios divine plates)
Not a big deal really, but could be confusing.
found something wrong, weakspot for gypceros and purple gypceros is tail for cut and head for impact. more blood comes out of the tail than stomach and it flinches easily with tail
nice calculator
found some errors:
Lion Kaiser saber
Lion king saber
Arch-Demon Halberd
all are listed as HR4-6
I think that’s because of the quest Monster Hunter in Felyne Elder, it ends up giving G-Rank mats…
For the unsheathed critical that part with greatsword charge isn’t it suppose to deal more damage than what you have written?
From what I’ve seen the unsheathed greatsword charge deals lesser damage. Can you explain why?
GS Charge and Unsheath Crit is not supposed to work together. You either use the unsheath attack or a charge not both. If you select the GS Charge type it will calculate for the majority of hits being charges. If you check the unsheath crit skill most of these charge hits will be calculated as mere unsheath attacks.
fresh weakspot for gypceros cut is tail not stomach
need fatalis red n white in armor mode damage calcu.
The armor modes of both are included in the average result. I don’t think its necessary to add two another Fatalis (Armor) in the calculation because you can’t switch weapons during the quest, right?
The results on the fatalis reflect the armor mode values in a way.
