MHP2G: Weapon Calculator
The Weapon Calculator MHP2G Edition
Instructions:
Choose the monster, your materials availability and the weapon line you’re interested in. If you want you can also select various armor skills you intend on wearing.
Press Submit and you will see the weak spot and the preferable weapons based on their damage output against this particular wyvern in descending order (best one first).
Based on DS31′ FAQ
English data provided by TeamHGG
How this works (please read):
This is all about finding an average hit. The code takes each weapon’s possible attacks and calculates them in realistic numbers. This means for example with Longswords that it takes some slices, some stabs, some spirit-gauged attacks, meshes them all together and calculates the average hit. In the case of LS 176 different attacks are used.
The printed damage number is this average hit. If you would take the health of a monster and divide it by this average number, the result would be the number of hits needed with this particular weapon to kill the given monster.
The higher the average hit, the less attacks are needed and the better the weapon is.
Weakspot:
Average Damage: Name
Some remarks:
- Unsheath Crit uses 95% of all hits being unsheath attacks.
- The damage displayed is only an estimation, you cannot use it for stagger calculation. Its use is to show the margin between weapons.
- If you select HR4-6 or HR7-9, Powercharm and -talon are automatically added to the equation.
- Status ailments are being considered. Paralyzed monsters take 10% more damage so that can effect the damage output. Poisoned monsters receive 120 to 350 points of damage per poisoned state, so I figured that in too. Both ailments give now a marginal boost to the damage output.
- Sharpness is fully figured in.
- Affinity is fully figured in. Changed:Affinity now plays a larger role, especially negative affinity on heavy hitting weapons (GS, Hammer). Expect Tigrex weapons to be worse.
- Hunting Horn notes are not considered as permanent damage increasing buffs.
- Gravios and Basarios open stomachs are considered as a potential additional damage spot.
- If you find any error or omission, feel free to comment it right away. I probably have some HRs wrong and probably some attack spots too.

Hey, what’s up?
Just came by to tell you that there’s a mistake i just noticed mates. In the Dual Swords section the Vicious Tassen Dual Swords have 35% Affinity and in here it says they have 0% affinity.
Hope i helped. :]

Thanks, Rui, will look into that info.
As for unsheath crit that would assume that you almost only attack with unsheath and I don’t have it programmed that way.
But its a valid option, I will ponder it.

Checked the Garuga duals and it seems I have the correct values here with 35% for Vicious Tassen. Unless I don’t understand your problem, Rui?

Weird. When i search for the Vicious Tessen here they only show 364 attack but not the 35% affinity.
Even if it put the weapons with RA +3 Vicious Tessen only get 40% affinity and their base affinity is 35% so it would go up to 65% affinity. That is why they are a lot weaker here than they are in fact mate. ^^

Jeez, you were right, I had vicious tessen on 0% instead of 35%. Fixed now, thanks.

Ucamulbas GS has a thin blue sharpness not green
December 10th, 2008 at 9:01 am
Yes. But that tiny bit is not enough to warrant enough hits in blue. After what? 4 hits its green.

It’s not a huge deal, but when I put Reckless Abandon +1 on the Magnitude (Hammer), it gives it 5% Affinity, when it’s supposed to be -5%. I don’t know how big a difference that 10% makes, but I thought it deserved a mention.

i found something wrong. the weakspot of shogun ceanataur is not head but the soft thing inside the shell
December 28th, 2008 at 7:02 am
The Akantor Sharp Talons are missing the 35% affinity stat.

Arch-demon Halberd is not supposed to be in the HR4-HR6 group. It can only be made using G-rank Rajang materials, not High-rank.
