Instructions:
Choose the monster, your materials availability and the weapon line you’re interested in. If you want you can also select various armor skills you intend on wearing.
Press Submit and you will see the weak spot and the preferable weapons based on their damage output against this particular wyvern in descending order (best one first).

How this works (please read):
This is all about finding an average hit. The code ta kes each weapon’s possible attacks and calculates them in realistic numbers. This means for example with Longswords that it takes some slices, some stabs, some spirit-gauged attacks, meshes them all together and calculates the average hit. In the case of LS 176 different attacks are used.
The percentage shown ranks from 100% (best for your rank) to, well, 1%.
The higher the percentage, the less attacks are needed and the better the weapon is.
Update 08/04/2009: Affinity changed (again). Seems more accurate now.
Some remarks:
- Art of Unsheathing uses 95% of all hits being unsheath attacks.
- The damage displayed is only an estimation, you cannot use it for stagger calculation. Its use is to show the margin between weapons.
- If you select HR4-6 or HR7-9, Powercharm and -talon are automatically added to the equation.
- Status ailments are being considered. Paralyzed monsters take 10% more damage so that can effect the damage output. Poisoned monsters receive 120 to 350 points of damage per poisoned state, so I figured that in too. Both ailments give now a marginal boost to the damage output.
- Sharpness is fully figured in.
- Affinity is fully figured in.
- Hunting Horn notes are not considered as permanent damage increasing buffs.
- Gravios and Basarios open stomachs are considered as a potential additional damage spot.
- Green or below sharpness gets a penalty on HR4 onwards as it tends to bounce on everything and therefore deals less damage.
- If you find any error or omission, feel free to comment it right away. I probably have some HRs wrong and probably some attack spots too.

@slayer_of_babies:gunning is indeed a risky business,haha,i love the excitement of gunning when gunning hard hitting monsters like tigrex, there is only little margin of error,it improves my non-armor evade skills,…
since I started gunning,its hard for me to melee a monster,..haha,..I only used melee in killing lao and yama,..

can u give me a few ideas off what to wear in armour and weapons for dual black diablos g*** . causing me a headache.
Mafumofu jacket is good enough, if not you may want to use any armor which increases your damage. ie… art of unsheathing, reckless abandon, sharpness and etc… Diablos aren’t any more dangerous than kutkus so, you’d be fine with practically any armor.
I used Obituary X, gemmed for evade+2 and HGE with the yama HBG.
Aim for the tail, start rolling before it starts charging and make sure to keep the current target painted.
Caps lock = Cruise control.
Just a question, are they gonna make new MHFU/MHP2G weapon paths?

get the auto reload jewels 4 ur armor
you dont need a place to load up,its just a matter of timing,anyway when all else fails,a farcaster doesnt,..mostly i use auto-reload so i only load once,..the only time i reload is in using pierce/pellet hbg and rapid fire mode lbg,..haha,..i love the thrill of gunning,..its an artful way of hunting,…art is a bang!!

Your PS3 needs to be connected to the internet with the wired LAN. The PSP then connects on the wireless channel with your PSP and the PS3 Adhoc Party functions as a tunnel to other PSPs connected the same way.
so does that mean instead of connecting our internet to our computer,it is wired directly to our ps3?I get my ps3 connection through the router,..
No, I just meant the PS3 has to be connected (to the router whatever) with a cable not via WLAN as the Adhoc Party uses the WLAN connection exclusive for the PSP connection.

i just wanna ask about the “Art of Unsheathing” because when i choose yes on it.. the “Av.” results is lower than no Art of Unsheathing? because i read that its just like you have affinity of 100% chance of getting 25% more additional dmg from the normal attack.

Well, im getting sick of Lava X. Also, i dont know which one would be more effective against the G*** monsters that have to be defeated to unlock Ukanlos.
Well, I would recommend Rathalos X gemmed to have the skills Atk up Large, Art of Unsheathing and Sharpness +1. But you should have different sets for different monsters. For example, when you need to do something like a gravios, Akantor with the Sword Saint piercing is great. And for something like Silver Rathalos, Akantor plate and waist with Rathalos Z legs and Rathalos Z vambraces and Khezu Z helm is really good.

I just moved out on my own and I’m kind of living out of my car and always broke.
Affinity bonus is not factored in. Magnitude should have 15% affinity when it has Sharpness+1 and RA+2.
Umm… I think the reckless abandon skill needs tweaking. i have eternal schisms with RA+2 and it has 0% affinity. On here it has 10%.
Wow I was surprised at the damage! Just making sure I’m reading this right, a rav blade +. Only does like 70 damage to a hr1 daora? Wow… O.o
One of the weapons listed seems incorrect. The Garuga GS, particularly the High Rank version (Sentoryu Wolf) has its Affinity listed incorrectly. The list treats its base affinity as 10%, when its actually 35%. This skews heavily against it when you run a high rank GS weapons list.
Hey, guys can I use Akantor Bow in Monster hunter freedom UNITE and still solo a fatalis? (I don’t have capacity up) Because I heard it got downgraded. BTW the total hp for black fatalis is 20000. How much damage do I have to do to it in order it to repel the fatalis.
I believe its about 5000 damage to repel him. just a guess, but it took me four fights to kill him and 4 x 5000 is 20k. Figures

Is that Av. Average damage?
The AoU and Charge calculations cannot be compared to calculations done without them, I have it implemented that way. Use the Weapon Recommendations Tool instead if you want to compare.
The av.damage here is just for ranking within one calculation.

True, but if there is a minute amount of it, the sharpness does not count. its counted one lower

Why does Chaotic Order with RA+2 just have 25% affinity and the same problems to the others? I’m playing MHFU on my PSP and my CO with RA+2 have 30% affinity??? Please explain this for me!!!
im at hr.9 soloing ukanlos and im using thunder gl and his underground rising and swimming technique is really anoying can anyone give me tips for beating this monster

You know, I searched up the elder felyne (9*) quest for rajang at the volcano, and it said that the number one weapon of choice was the hidden saber! I have it…but i think that blango destructor would be a better choice. Who agrees?
lalala, affinity formula is wrong, RA+3 and sharpness+1 from gemmed akantor armor give my juggernaut 40% affinity, not 35% as listed here
hey wondering what equip is best for the Monster Hunter quest(Rathalos, Tigrex, Nargacuga, and Rajang)I mostly use longswords but anythings fine (HR9)
