How to use this
The calculator, when used untweaked, is pretty straightforward. You select weapon class, monster and the two ranks. Your progress/rank determines the availability of weapons. Press Go and you'll receive a weighted list of the weapons available to you in the order of their damage potential.
The result is presented in tiers. Within each tier the weapons are ranked.
- The top tier consists of weapons able to deal the maximum damage to the monster (95%-100%).
- The second tier consists of those capable to get the monster down quick enough to feel good (80%-95%).
- The third tier has suboptimal choices. Only use weapons from there if you have better choice. (50%-80%)
- Forth tier is crap and should only be considered for joke runs (1%-50%).
You can also set a number of armor and kitchen skills. They do influence the result, so if you have
armor giving these skills, set them here.
The I keep my Sharpness up setting isn't a skill, but determines if the weapon will always be used
in its best sharpness. If you uncheck this, weapons with small upper sharpness bars will rank lower
because of their sharpness degrading quick.
The tweak section should ONLY be used if you know what you are doing. They are preset with sensible values, so if you are not an expert veteran you just should leave them alone.
IF you are such an expert veteran you can do the following:
Tweak Attacks: Rank the attacks of the weapon according to your playstyle. If you always
Superpound, drag the sliders of the other attacks to the left and the Superpound slider to the right.
If you always triple-charge with an occasional side slash, drag them accordingly.
The values of the sliders will be summed up to 100% and then used for the calculation of the average
percentage.
Tweak Hitzones: You always attack the head regardless of what other hitzones a monster have?
Drag it to full and drag all other sliders to the left.
Basically this is a hit distribution for all the monster's hitzones according to the weapon used (ie.
SnS have lower reach than GS, so no easy stomach hitting on Plesioth).

Very cool.
this is about the same as the weapon Cal just a little more explaination
And a little more customization.
The only problem i see, is that it only shows the BEST possible weapon solution for the monster your fighting, So for instance my girlfriend is hr1, wanting to know what weapon would be best for her first kut-ku. But the weapon suggestion is the high frost edge G which is literally impossible for her to achieve at this given time.
I’m working on the HR availability. I want to make it as exact as possible.
Whoa! This is awesometastic! *plays with tweaking bars*
yeeeaaa lol i just noticed you already posted about what i said before so sorry i pointed the finger at an already obvious quirk =P
other than that this little application you made is prolly the greatist thing ever lol
It says HR8 / G-rank
HR8 / G-rank
Should be HR8 / G-rank
HR9 / G-rank
Other than that, really good job. Keep it up.
Slayer: He said its disabled, hence its not proper and does not work…
??????????
i put in HR5 and 9* high rank but it gives me weapons that i cant make until i’am better and a higher rank
Its not working right now. Soon.
can any body help me ?
how?
uhm just a question,if as of the moment the progress is disabled,..if we are going to use this, what HR rank is it currently using?
All weapons, HR9.
so is it ok to use the best weapon you can get in tier 2-4 if u cant get the ones in tier 1 and if you are in lower rank?..
They are ranked. Get the best weapon starting from the top of the list.
I found a bug with 2 elements duals.
The calculator uses them like they have full damage of each element, but only one sword of duals have that element, so its like half damage of the number.
It gives me that is better Volcanic Storm that Holy Guild Knight to kill a Silver Rathalos.
PS: And it would be nice to take out these “dummy” weapons, since u cant have them in Unite…
I’m using this in the formula (one half of the hits with one element), but I may made an error. I’ll check, thanks.

i put in guild 5 teostra it said red dragon sword u cant improve fire dragon sword unless u have teostra horn!!!
weopon reccomendATION IS STILL COOL but theres problem.
I’ve got a question for this calculator, why isn’t the bow listed?
No ranged weapons in this one, sorry.
Is there perhaps another spot on the site that has one that I missed?
No. I haven’t created a calculator for ranged weapons (yet).
This isnt working for me sadly, i make my selections, press hit me and get nothing.
Browser and version, please. Does the result popup show up empty or is nothing happening?
I seem to have found a bug. When I select greatsword, Emerald Congalala, Sharpness +1, power talon/charm, I keep my sharpness up, and felyne kitchen atk up. I receive a list full of
“Warning: Division by zero in /mnt/web2/31/13/51269513/htdocs/mh/wp-content/weaponCalcTools.php on line 330″
at the bottom it lists a list of what appears to be every weapon listed as such:
Tier 1 (Best Damage)
* Pickaxe Blade+ (0)
also each successive entry still has the tier 1 message and is tabbed over additional space
oddly enough it worked fine when I tried it again …
It’s a shame i just found out about that calculator know that i’m almost done with the game.
