You need to hit him in the belly area between the legs. That is why I recommend SnS over LS because you can get a lot of hits in the right area. Because speed is such a big factor, if you don't have Daimyo Warbow (upgraded), use SnS, LS, or Hammer. Bassarios battles are like a bullfight.
