What’s new:
Lord Grahf has done it again. He has revised the damage formulas for Monster Hunter Freedom and discovered some minor differences to the ones of Monster Hunter PS2. Since I had used MH data before, I have now created this new version of the calculator to reflect these changes. The old calculator is located here with all the comments attached.
The major change is in the SnS line, which now really favors raw damage.
Instructions:
This one is really easy to use. Choose the wyvern, your HR, the quest level and the weapon line you’re
interested in. Press Submit and you will see a ProTip ™ and the preferable weapons based
on their damage output against this particular wyvern in descending order (best one first).
Status elements such as poison or paralysis are not taken into account. The PBA or the Expert
Sword for example are very good weapons but they will likely not rank very high in the
results since the specialized (elemental) weapons are almost always better.
So if you are looking for the best all around weapon for your rank and style, use your brains.

I don’t know if they are 100% correct, but i think at least 99%. If you want to host them its ok with me. I just learned enough html to get them on the web tonight. (as you can tell the websight is very basic)

More minor issues: for lances, I see Red Prominence and Spear of Prominence, sometimes in the same top 10 list, but I don’t see Blaze Tail in there, even though it seems like it should be between those two in power. Is it missing? Same for Blue Tail. Thanks again, though!

and golden serpentblade is better than supremacy blade its longer green or r trying to steer people away from it because i think it would be better to have supremacy ready for divine slasher

I have them both at green. I do not make a difference for better sharpness bars in the same color, so they are giving the same results.

Can you explain to me why Black Katana MK.II isn’t in there? It does more damage than Greater Serpentblade, has almost the same attack power as Supremacy Blade.

Do you include the elemental damage in your calculations? For G-Ranked Basarios it says that High Ifrit is the number one choice, but doesn’t dragon elemental weapons such as E.Strife do more damage?

eternal strife has bad raw damage and raw damage is the main thing elelment comes second always no monster is weak enough to dragon for it to do really good execpt fatalis its very weak to dragon element but raw still is very powerful there too use the link provided to get ur answer

Strange… there doesn’t seem to be any difference between the top ten weapons of G-class and elder quests when fighting Diablos.

Due to popular demand, the SWB is now HR1. Keep it mind that it will dominate the list until HR4.

Ok i now have slain hr3 fatalis loads of times (i got 6 eyes and 6 sharp ones from 3 fatalis when did they grow extra eyes!)
But my question is should i stick with devil slicer an syth of menace dealdy battle axe or should i invest my fatalis materials into true blackdragon swd?

How does Ham of Hams and War Basher have the same damage, when War Basher has far superior sharpness?
Also, calculating a single hit with a hammer is not a good way to find the most effective hammer. I’m sure it’s a ton more work, but options should be given as to whether you want to calculate a 2-hit superpound, 3-hit triple pound or 6-hit charge and spin combo with golf swing finish.
I just noticed this when someone was asking about what hammer was best to use on Lao. I have to disagree with your top ten, considering only the triple pound should be used on his stomach. This favors raw damage to element, pushing War Basher and Nocturne Gigaton further up the list.
And as I said, Ham of Hams is green and War Basher is blue. Also, with sharp + 1, Ham of Hams is still green and War Basher is white.

if you just ignore all them, then it comes done to wats the best, but iget wat you said about the lao and ur the expert but, it is hard to fit in all the factors

War Basher had the wrong sharpnes, corrected.
I now use triple pound as the default hammer calculation base. Anyway, even with the triple pound (52%, 20%, 100%) the top ten on lao does not change.

twisted black horns can only be obtained in the rewards of a black diablos G-rank quest. You must break both horns of at least one Diablos. And then they are still rare.

selenia wat should i use on the crimson fatalis ur wepon calculator says ultimus heaven and earth or do you think u should go for eternal schisms because i have them the blue sharpness its not too good with Eschisms it goes in a couple of combos and U H&E it has more green sharpness

With ESchism its all Fury Combo, with UH&E its circle button in fury mode. ESchism will work fine.

Yes, BF is not good against Raths. Did it show up anywhere? If so remember you’re seeing the top ten. Elder and HR1 weapons below number 5 are surely not recommended.

“Damage Formula”, schmamage schformula. This is a big, heaping pile of wyvern dung, nothing more. There is no way you can determine the “damage formula” unless you have decompiled the game and looked at the code in detail, you fucking noobs.

lol weirdest thing happened today i combo-ed fatalis legs in ending pic and its was duals fury combo so red light all over the place and yellow sparks as i should have bounced but i was in fury combo and fatalis was just coming off the ground in “you have won the battle” the fatalis was flying away backwards and after i could see see few hundred metres away from the castle afterwards

yes you can wen i started fatalis rounds for the second time i was goin for hvy crust but got evil eye lol i heard you can only get them in first round

Eyes (Evil, Sharp) are rewards in the first round only. Hvy Crust is reward only too.

Yes, elemental damage on hammers is pretty useless since one hit from a hammer deals around 50% of its raw damage.

apparently i need to do troublesome pair (ive already done powderstone desert plessy and kill the khezu) to unlock horn of the monoblos. so i cant get frost edge yet

You can get gravious venom spear at hr 3 you get toxin sacs from gyps & grav bits from the hr 3 white prey arena just kill the grav

Red Dragon Sword can be gotten at hr 1 3* Lao from the guild hall and trade a hornet fin at the swamp for firestones then use expand pickaxes to multipiy them (monoblos training gives them)

just a quick question about the Kirin SnS’s. I notice that Kirin bolt Ultimus shows in top ten, for example against Silver Rath at HR2 but the Kami doesn’t.
I’m gathering items to make the Kami at the moment and although a few kirin manes short (18 needed in total) I’ve got all the other gear (azure horns and azure t-tails) from the HR2 Kirin.
Should this weapon therefore feature higher than the ulitimus in this case?

Cheers Snuffrix, I’ve already got the indora - just biding my time creating the SNS’s of the world.
It’s kind of a cool looking weapon as well (well the ultimus is I assume that the kami is not going to change too much).
only five SNS’s to go:
-kami, high sandman…, cursed spirit, blue ogre and black ruiner (might lose interest all together before I complete them all though)

Why isn’t Ogre Tusk on any of the Lance things. For example, On the elder Rathalos, it says that Valhalla is number 4, yet Ogre Tusk has more damage in raw terms, but Valhalla is also raw.

Ogre Tusk added. Golden Serpentblade now HR1. EA now HR2. Kirin Bolt Kami added. Expert Hammer nor HR1.

just a quick follow up on the kami.
My belief is that this can be obtained at HR2 level, I got all the materials from this quest.
I only get it to show up in the calculator at HR5…example = silver Rath

just out of interest, how does the great ninja sword rate in the pecking order?
I know its not a fantastic weapon, in that its easily superceded by SWB and cursed spirit in the raw damage league.
But, against, say an elder kirin (raw damage focus) how close to the top ten would this weapon get?
Again I re-iterate just out of interest, nothing else.

My advise is A lance or great swrd, take bombs mega pots normal pots and sonic bombs an flash bombs use these well an he fall like a wooden house in a tropical storm!

evil eyes are easy i got one first got after using about 8 whetstones nearly 9 on fata with E.Schisms thats how i tell if im doin good the more whetstones used more damage done but i have neva done that many before but i seem to believe that the more damage you do beta chance and i have one a second go once and one wen i was starting fata for hvy crst also got another one of them today
i think you only need 5 evil eyes for Divine Slasher

In Great Swords, Rathalos, HR1 Elder dude, you have greater serpentblade in it, but not executioner, which is stronger and easier to make. (Pure crystals can’t be collected by newbs like me)

HR5 diablos unfortunately i have 2 aswell i have got one each round hopefully next time i get like 3 at least one though its so annoying then i need to get 5 silver tickets and 1 more evil eye for Divine slasher

Scratch 2 pl8s are a waste and you can fight fat alice at hr3 tho strife isnt much cop on the 50min fat alice, farm ancient stones for schisims & use those instead.

Could you change the “Calculated with three (triple-) Pounds” for the hammer Calculations? I first got the impression I’d need to Triple Pound a Fatalis 3 times to hurt him a Tiny bit. Perhaps changed to “Calculated with One Triple-Pound combo”.

ok there is no way that judgement bents davine slasher. and cutless plus and or guild sabers beats a fire weapon. khezu is strong against water. less it be blood khezu.

thats because judgement isnt good against khezu divine slasher is best at HR5
and if you check HR5 for duals against khezu it will say Corpse Blades as number one try entering you data correctly

Just letting you know, Djinn+ should be HR2. All it needs are wings, a plate, and earth crystals - all of those are easy gets for HR2. >.>

What is better for Crimson fata. True black dragon sword? or Eternal schisms?

True Black Dragon Sword (or any SnS) Against Crimson Fata you will need to use ESP skill or Swords Saint Peicing Helm to hit Crimson without bouncing, but with Eternal Schisms (duals) you use fury combo (Triangle + O while berserker or demonised)
other than that it comes to choice I’d go for E.Schisms and fury combo tonnes because you dont need helm and can wear Rathalos Soul with leather vambraces for High Grade Ear Plug and Fast Sharpening or Full Yian Guruga S and Guruga Mask with Sharp Sword, High Grade EarPlug and Recovery Items DEcreased.

Fatalis with duals best hit should be Fury Combo (10 hits) on legs
then you should change the list, E.Schisms would be first and when i figured it out they did about 10 or 11 more damage per combo than U H&E.

Divine slasher is unbelivable powerfull, but u cant just swing a sword at a wyvern u g2 time an plan ur attacks that is the key to succes

i keep failing, i use BF on the head all the way with rath armour (attack up med) and i use T-Tip with demondrugs.
i also use LBB and LBB+
im so annoyed that im actually swearing at him.
i did get some pretty radical surfing action on his back though. but then i accidentally catapulted myself into his leg.

Get obellion or enternal strife anything with dragon element an LBB+ will own it, dont keep at the head once his horns broke go for each foot he will stagger, then the stomach he will fall, after that then keep at the head

omg me and a friend we-re fighting Azure lao today and failed and horrible may it be, we were going good :|,
1. I died first from get this tripping the lao and as it fell i got hit and died at almost full health
2. then my friend at pretty big health i saw him get hit in the face only just by the tip of the lao’s tail and dead.
3. Then i died again at full 100 health by accidently rolling out of stomach and trodden on by back leg.
Morale of my story is to never think of normal lao tactics when fighting this thing, sometimes, because thats what I have normally always done :S. Or just stay away from the massive legs with rathalos soul armor

Ive learned that being with a group of players can be quite bad as well good, me an my 2 mates when for diablos for an example before, they a rookies i aint, we failed due to their mistakes, in my eyes solo is the best because u kno the mistakes etc,

I just noticed: master’s blade is not n the listing, but wolf blade is for some quests. Is it because of sharpness? Because if not, then it must have gotten left out or something.
