Shiny!
Jewels are up in the data section. Thanks to Me, Fresh and Draconacticus for compiling the data, and KingofMHF and Minegarde for the raw data.
Doh! Scratch that. There’s an issue which will hopefully be sorted out tonight. Until then, We’ll have the skills, but not the ingredients.
Thanks to HotGamerMum and Minegarde we’ve been able to shot the bugs out. The Jewels are now fully useable. Why don’t you click on an item to see where this gets you?
Armour help needed – but way less this time!
Hello! We’re on the second sweep now to patch in the armours missed by the first sweep. (In case you didn’t know, we’re collating every piece of armour to create a searchable database).
So far we’ve had massive success. We’ve got over 1500 pieces now, and another 200 pieces have already been allocated.
That leaves us with about 500 pieces. If you can help, send an email to armorhelper@reign-of-the-rathalos.com and tell us your HR and how many pieces you think you’ve got time for (let’s say between 20 and 100 pieces), and I’ll make you up a batch to help out with.
Thankyou!
We’ve been busy!
A lot of people have been working hard behind the scenes for you – yes, you.
Firstly we’ve been working on a complete armour piece database, and we’re over halfway there (more like 3/4). Hopefully we’ll recieve all the other contributions by the deadline, tomorrow, and we already have Dynamic and Psience working on the gaps.
When it’s complete and ready, we’ll firstly hotst it in a searchable database (so you can search for a piece by slots, defence, skills etc). Then later on, we’ll integrate it with the other cool stuff we have to create a very powerful tool. But that will be a nice surprise.
The second thing I’ve invested a lot of time in is the Video Tutorial Matrix. The aim is to have a repository of at least one good video for every monster and weapon type. You’ll see since it launched a few weeks ago, we’ve about half filled it, so it’s already quite useful, if not the go-to resource it could be.
To this end, I’d like to jump-start this again; I’ve spent some time over the weekend vetting and adding various videos (you can kind of see I started by monster from top to bottom, then started on the lance vids. What I’d really like is if someone picked a monster and worked through the gaps searching (or even making) a video (although if you make one, try and make it clear that you have dibs on it, just in case we get duplicates). The usual rules apply, try to avoid headlocking, heroics, or overpowered weapons for underpowered monsters (I plan to use some fairly powerful weapons for mine to restrict the video length, but nothing OTT)
Thanks for listening – I’ll see you around.
Calling all wordsmiths and artists….
Unleash your creative juices!! (ewwwww, no, not those ones, the other ones)
Capcom Europe is running a competition to get your name in the credits of MH Tri by either designing a new weapon for the series or by providing some exotic names for some currently anonymous weapons in the upcoming release!
Head to the Capcom forums for more details and to read the T&C’s: www.capcom-europe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=29611
Ryozo-San: THE PIG IS A LIE
As mentioned previously, Ryozo – CREATOR OF MONSTER HUNTER, BITCHES – was at the London Gathering Hall this week, and RotR was there to observe, make notes, devise penalties and see that they were enforced.

Ryozo sits and wishes he were anywhere other than a third-floor room full of sweating gamers in black t-shirts in the middle of Summer.
For the most part, a great deal of very obvious questions were asked. However, we’d like to present you with a selection of our favourites.
CROWD: Do you have a cat? RYOZO: I’m a dog person. I guess the guys in R&D really like cats.
CROWD: Why are Plesioth’s hitboxes so broken? RYOZO: Oh, great. (laughter) I’ll complain to the programmers for you. Hopefully, as the technology improves, it’ll get better.
CROWD: Are you a better LS user than me? RYOZO: I like bowgun. (laughter and uproarious applause)

After three hours of this sort of thing, Ryozo has a psychotic break and starts autographing everything that moves. Two children and a cat escaped unsigned.
CROWD: What does Poogie do? RYOZO: Poogie is there for spiritual support. (laughter) SNUFFKIN: I think Ryozo-san should know that on Western forums, Poogie has become something of a superstition. “I PETTED THAT DAMN PIG A HUNDRED TIMES! THE ONE TIME I DIDN’T DO IT, I GOT THE REWARD I WANTED!” RYOZO: In Japan, too, there is speculation as to the evil nature of Poogie. He is exactly what you make of him.
CROWD: Why have you removed so many classes from Monster Hunter 3? RYOZO: It’s not so much removing, because we were rebuilding the game from the ground up and we wanted to make everything deeper. What do you use? CROWD: GS and LS. RYOZO: You’re safe.
Ryozo-San At The Gathering Hall
You will all be happy to hear that Capcom has tossed us a pack of Monster Hunter chewing gum signed by Ryozo as a future competition prize. A more substantial report will follow this week, but for now be content to know that more awesome free shit is headed your way, RotR reader.
Where the producer of MH will be this weekend, and where I’ve been all month

God damn it. Every time I think I’m out, THEY PULL ME BACK IN!
My PSP went boing last month. You know what, I though, maybe it’s just time to call it a day. Life is good. No More Heroes 2 and Professor Layton 2 are on the way. MH3 is a long way off. Why not have a break? It’ll be one less website you have to worry about.
Then Leo from Capcom emails me to tell me that Mr. Ryozo, THE GUY WHO GOD DAMN MADE MONSTER HUNTER, is in town for the weekend and can I be at the Gathering Hall on Charing Cross Road on Sunday so that RotR can cover it.
One day my life will be counted in Cash Convertors receipts.
Hall of Fame reset upcoming!
As I’m about to finally code that AJAX part which will enable you to rate the HoF entries and seeing that alot of new players have come into the franchise, I will reset the Hall of Fame for MHFU in the very near future.
This means all times will be deleted and you can start heading for the being the best again. Also a bit of redesign on the HoF will be due.
Tally-ho! Capcom advertise MHFU in a British styley!
Unveiling Capcom’s latest trailer for MHFU! It features 4 british chums delving into new depths of ineptitude as they scorch the retinas of a rathalos with multiple flashbombs.
One thing is quite clear, a pizza rich diet and button mashing doesn’t seem to be the greatest training regime for hunting wyverns. I’d also like to take the opportunity to say that these 4 are not representative of us british monster hunters. For a start none of them are wearing bowler hats.
Thanks to tw1g_007 from gamefaqs for pointing this one out.
Next contest is online.
Well, without further ado: RotR Contest Numero Dos. Participate and win a MHFU game, sponsored by Capcom.
Good luck!
