MH3

The Monsters of MHP3: #22 Barroth

An original monster of MH3, sand dwelling and mud slinging he, like his icy counterpart, likes to backup. After several fights it becomes annoying, after some more outright dumb. He is not a challenge at all but the fights take long and feel unrightful stretched.

The Monsters of MHP3: #21 Barioth

Barioth was deemed the Naruga replacement in MH3. He is likewise deft and jumpy, he lives in cold areas though. One of the more interesting fights in MH3 he also provides at least good-looking armor. May I say Kirin?

The Monsters of MHP3: #14 Diablos

Diablos has made it from the original MH through all iterations into MH3 and now MHP3. Barely altered he burrows, tails slaps, high-grade roars and stuns without a chance to roll or dive and has the most intimidating charge a wyvern can have. The Four Horns quest, for those who remember it, was a serious reason for going postal.

Busy Bees: MH3 Database Published

While I was not as busy as I should have been, which may be due to the fact that MH3 hasn’t incited the spark in me (which in turn is not the game’s fault), _MIkeJS on gameFAQs took the baton and released his version of a Monster Hunter Tri Database.

Monster Hunter Tri Database

I have to add that he did (and is doing) a tremendous job, data being served as JSON object so you could, technically, use his provided data and do your own tomfoolery with it.

Awesome job!

Support the Game: The Swag Part #1

So. You want something from that table? And you are playing Monster Hunter Tri?

You want?

So take a break, make a snapshot of your game box and send it along with your nametag or something unique to the email adress mentioned here. If you are lucky you’ll get a nice package flying your way.

A Seasoned Hunter’s Point of View

Well, as it happens I got my Monster Hunter Tri copy. Here’s the unboxing in two fast steps, performed by Emily herself.

Dragon Game Get!

I have managed to snatch 8 hours from my daily chores to put into Monster Hunter Tri and here’s what I’ve gathered on first impressions for this truly beautiful game.

As you all know, I could be considered a veteran, lacking a better word, in Monster Hunter. I’m playing the games from this franchise since 2006 and still have the spark in me, hunting more and more of them monsters. So naturally I was eager to get my hands on this restart of the series, hoping for that spark to turn into a bonfire. Read the rest of this entry »

Support the Game: MH3 Supporters Page

Ok, I just got the green light from Nintendo to set up the Supporter’s Page, similar to the MHFU one.

I will create it later this evening. Basically you send me an orginal picture of the gamebox with some sign showing that it’s yours (like your gamefaqs name, or yourself on the picture). I’ll put those pictures up on RotR so everybody can see who’s supporting the franchise. Show your pride.

Why? I’m getting some swag (nothing too big, so no Wii or huge statues) from Nintendo to spread the love. I’ll make a raffle every 50 entries and draw one price for a lucky winner. So, the more entries I get the more prices are there to win. Send your picture to mh3supporter@reign-of-the-rathalos.com.

See the entries, once they are starting to dribble in, here:

RotR’s MH3 Engagement

Some of you have already noticed that in the background of RotR the Monster Hunter Tri pages are shaping up. While I don’t have game data uploaded and accessible right now, the real estate framework for presenting those and commenting on them is almost ready now.

I’m completely recreating the site, stepping away from WordPress. WordPress is awesome when you have a blog and it surely can contain lots of static content, but for all this dynamic stuff I’m doing it’s starting to limit my ability for aspired gorgeousness.

On the MH3 site there will be a User Section (you’ll have to create a new login apart from the login you’ve used on RotR’s main site) which will feature achievements, a What’s New section and access to new comments on the community pages. Notice the bolded will. It’s not completely finished yet.

Speaking of community pages there will be a fresh view on the forum. Take a look and use it for commenting already.

Basically this three sections are now working and can be used. Why don’t you guys take a look and make yourself comfortable on the new upcoming world dominating MH3 site? (Excuse my illusions of grandeur…)

The Avatar Creator

This is the Avatar Creator. It has been announced some time ago and basically is not related to MH3. Still it’s the first new tool on the new site.

The Main Portal

This is the main access portal to the site. Every available tool will be presented here with a small description of itself. Also there’s the countdown clock ticking already!

The Community Wall

And finally this is the community section. I have dubbed it The Wall, as it basically is a pinboard of some sorts enabling you to pin notes on it or make follow ups on already existing notes. As it gets crowded I will look into note selections based on time, randomness or whatever seems reasonable. Every visit here will show you a different view, so check back often. Also, new comments or notes since your last visit will shop up in your user center (not yet), so you can keep track of your activities.

Enjoy the new world.
