Facts
It’s April 2010.
Capcom announced yesterday that they gang up with Nintendo to beat our wallets in April, hoping we have enough money to buy Monster Hunter Tri and a Wii to play it on.
Nintendo will take the marketing, sales and distribution rights in Europe and Australia, Capcom itself will step back and only act as publisher.
Well, Nintendo’s marketing will probably mean we will see some TV ads finally. With some dudes swinging the slash axe with the Wiimote. Good or bad?
Bruce Banner Competition
Are you green enough? Minegarde is hosting a nice competition for creating a banner capturing the spirit of the site.
The currently have no banner which they can give affiliated sites to link to them (yes, this includes Reign of the Rathalos), so Thraadash decided to let his own gfx skills be and take one for the team, creating this nice competition.
Head here to read the rules and for the entries and here to comment on it. The contest runs until 12/31. Good luck!
Teo is not Hard
Just in case you feel challenged by MHFU Teostra, watch this little nuke spitter:

AdHoc Party Twitter
This is the twitter to follow if you want to keep updated on the new quests put up on our corkboard.
AdHoc Meeting Point
Well. This:
Based on Draconactius idea of creating a meeting board where you can put up your questing needs, looking for help on PS3 Adhoc US / JP and the upcoming EU.
You enter your details (when am I online, in which world can you find me and what are you going to do) and hope someone finds you then and there. This works one-way currently but we will extend the feedback systems on twitter and the like.
Also, this will work even better if like everybody on PS3 Adhoc is aware of this meeting board and looks at it occasionally or put up own quest request.
Please comment away if you have criticism, this is like an early Beta of the widget and it will surely stay for a long time, perhaps even for MH3, so the better it gets the easier any meetings will come across.
OK, I got the Message
My decision to link to two places for Monster Hunter seems to have irritated some. Well, here’s a comprehensive linkage array for you to browse through. I hope I’ve forgotten nothing.
GameFAQs and Minegarde are linked in the menu bar.
Forums:
- Capcom Unity. Normally a nice place, with some kids not growing up.
- Capcom Europe. Much better and generally nicer.
- Neoseeker. Can’t skip that. It’s uneducated though and some information held there is stolen or wrong.
Information sites:
- Encyclopedia Gigantica: A huge effort by Capcom in creating this, but it ended as one of the most irritating and misleading sites.
- MH Wikia: It’s getting better and better. It’s worth a visit.
- MHFU Wiki: By Grahf, so you know everything is up there is correct. In limbo.

The Week in Summary
It has been a quite pleasant week regarding Monster Hunter. To put you up on the news:
MHP3 is somewhat announced for Winter 2010 in Japan. While this might not be the most surprising move, it sure is nice to hear and see about it. Here’s the google translate for you.

You know I provide a small outlet for having your own blog about Monster Hunter Nerd Rage or what have you. The latest blog entries can be accessed through the sidebar.
However, if you want your blog to be visited and active, you need to promote it in whatever communities you roam. Readers don’t grow on trees. Well, actually they do, but you still need to pick them.
Just saying.
Again. Forum. Yes or no?
So. Again it has come to this. I’m entertaining a semi-active forum on my page. The forum idea and functionality has been on RotR for two years.
In this two years I’ve scrapped one forum completely and migrated the current forum twice. I’ve always looked at it as a I need to have a forum feature, not as something I like to have.
My caveats with it: It does not integrate nicely. it doesn’t look too good with some of the themes. It is horribly slow. It’s pretty inactive. There is one much more active community available.
There are alternatives available like IntenseDebate, which features discussions integrating all major social networks and seamless integration into WordPress. I should add that I’m not looking for alternative forum frameworks here.
So, you see I’m biased towards removing it altogether. Your take? Please comment away.
The Forum. Stay or away?
