Capcom JP announces MHP 3rd
It seems that it will have a mix of MH3 content and MHP2G as you can see lots of MH3 monsters and Tigrex, Naruga and at least two more monsters previously unknown. Also real infrastructure is rumoured (as always).
Slated for release later this year in Japan.
UPDATE, from Sonsaru on gameFAQs:
* Weapons are GS, tachi, hammer, SnS, twin blades, gunlance, hunting horn, lance, bow, slash axe, light bow and heavy bow, as reported. All of ‘em!
* Infrastructure is in.
* It definitely isn’t Tri.
* Village is called Yukumo.
* Village chief is a beautiful, middle-aged woman (or “cougar”)
* Recepcionist is very cute – so what’s new?
* Mixed sex hot spring
* Lots of very oriental touches
* Includes the gorge area from MHF.
* Monsters are Lightening Wolf Dragon Jinouga, Aoashira, Gaava
* No underwater.
* Many things that are totally new to 3rd.
* Monsters from Tri will also appear.
* Weapons have been considerably changed.
* Not as many quests as P2G, but more than P2.
* Armor uses the skill points system.
* You take 2 cats with you.
* You can customize cat armor.
* Cat weapons can be cut or hit damage.
* A new communication element is added to deepen multiplay. Still a secret for now.
* You can use Kanji and other Japanese alphabets for character names (until now they were only in English even in the Japanese games)
* No carry over from P2G.
* All of the “promises” that a MHP game must keep, will be kept.
* P2 is not the base of the game, much of it has been totally remade.
* Monster movements and graphics have been greatly improved – images of the village, forest and volcano do look quite a bit nicer than P2.
* They want you to be thinking – “Can they really have this many monsters moving with this quality of graphics? And you can do this too…?!”
* Q – Does it feel like Tri to play? A – It isn’t P2G or Tri, but something new.
* Cat Village is out in August.

I hope Capcom includes an MHFU/MHP2G character import function, though I doubt they will. Something like that might be too much to hope for judging by the changes already seen. Either way I’m happy with a third installment, can’t wait to get my hands on it!
damn @_@
abit to early in my eyes. LET US PLAY MH TRI FIRST TILL OUR FINGERS BLEED CAMPCOM!! ..and after 1-2 years they can come up with MH portable 3
Dual swords… ;_;
It’s not early, Athanatoz. Remember when Tri was launched on japan? How long it was? I guess it’s gonna be the same this time. The same when 2ndG came out, etc.
yes i dont have to worry about not playing mh3 now ha ha. well not completly at least. i wonder when they will do a ps3 version but this can sure hold me over untill then….and i still wana see the original stonehedge level from the original monsterhunter e3 video
I think it’s a good thing to not have an import, as much as i dislike the idea of starting over it greatly help the life of the game
no import it is not an good option … i mean in a few weeks i´ll get my MH3 on my wii and then i have something to wait for MHP 3.
big ups 4 capcom !
I’m at loss for words. I had been looking forward to playing MH3 for so long, looking forward to playing the “new” installment of the Monster Hunter series…. Even though this is an announcement I can’t help but feel that come April 20th MH3 just won’t be as “new” as I had always dreamed.
I’m not sure how I feel about this…
This looks friggin’ awesome! I love how they have a bear, but I think he looks a bit too mundane for a MH game… but then again I thought the same thing about Aptonoths and Apceroses.
Frankly I think going portable was one of the best things that happened to MH. Despite the fact you can play it fine alone, its a social game, your supposed to team up. And on the PSP this is done best. I was in Japan early last year, and I was surprised how often you’d go into a fast food store, like KFC of McDonnalds and there would be groups of people sitting in the store playing WiFi MH.
Moving MH back to a large console might severely limit that. The PSP gives players the ease to whip the game out and play whenever, wherever. Something a static living room system could not.
I might prefer this option over the Wii version, even though I have a Wii.
Sigh, I bought a wii just for MH3 T-T
Guess it’s kind of useless now.
I can’t say anything, this trailer rendered me speechless.
is it going to go to new zealand
Is this a dream? No?! OMG!!!
now THIS what I’m talking about!!!
Oh yeah !!
I wonder how will that skill points feature will work on armors, I still prefer the old armor feature in MHFU
This is glory.
was that a Felyne in Rathalos armor? XD
man, that’s some good stuff there!
hey boss there,
you need to add a new tab between MHFU and MH3!
When I’m going to japan I’ll get the new PSP and the new MH3…. my summer will be awesome
go capcom go!
is it world wide?
DDDDDDDDDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
ITS HERE!!! UNBELIEVEABLE!!!! THE THIRD INSTALLMENT!!!! DO MY EYES DECIEVE ME?!?!?!?!
ITS COMING!!!!!!
GLORY TO THE CREATORS, THIS IS ULTIMATE!!!
FORGET TRI AND FRONTIER, PORTABLE DOMINATES!!!
TRUE!
LOL!
Hahahaha

I have one thing to say and one thing only: This was a triumph.
I’m making a note here, huge success
I’m so relieved. I was sad, cause I didn’t have a wii, but now, my life has been made.
Wait! I just realized!
“No Underwear”
+
“Mixed sex Hot Spring”
=
:O!!!!
I’ve read the same as you in the first place, but just read again.
I wonder what sense the hot spring will make.
Will it replace the felyne cooks or something?
I can’t wait to get it and find it out!
I’m quite excited.
is this for psp?it sounds stupid but i just want to clarify it,..
