Admit Defeat?
The Monster Hunter Wikia page has become something really really good. It started awful some years ago and for a long time it didn’t look promising.
But under the regency of Bobofango the content and presentation really went stellar. I applaud you guys.
Well, that being said, I spent this week thinking about the benefits I can add to the data already provided there. The data on the MH3 Wikia is well presented, it’s very complete and structured, you can get every info you want with a few clicks. However, it’s a static presentation, so linking must be done manually and you can’t aggregate the data (like I did for MHFU).
Still I am unsure if these aggregations are so much more useful that they warrant the considerable effort needed to create databases, tables, functions and last but not least, raw data for those tables. What do you guys think? Shall I provide another data outlet with similar or slightly enhanced benefits than the Wikia or shall I not bother and instead focus on calculators and other tools?
If you ask me for a suggestion, i would like you guys to coorperate with MH Wikia, because you guys will make a good MH db and we would love stay in one place that’s has a completely MH DB besides isn’t your guys goal is same with them ? anyway sorry for my bad english, since i’m an indonesian
We are working with the MH wikia already. Problem is that the Wikia is a hosted page with limited design capabilities. It cannot be fed from databases. As far as I understand it you need to lay out each page on its own.
So duplication will be necessary, at least in the relevant parts.
Is this in relation to MHTri or to the new, MHP3? I guess I don’t really know what they’ve been working on over there.
Although I guess you obviously can’t start working on much for MHP3 since there’s literally no substantive info on it, but maybe you could focus energy there?
