Courtesy of Aintitcool.com, Reign of the Rathalos can now reveal some exclusive first details on the planned Monster Hunter movie starring Will Smith.

Smith will play a normal rancher concerned with the day-to-day minding of his family and posessions. However, when Rathalos burns said ranch to the ground, he is forced to reassess his role in a land where the monsters rule. Monsters rule. (Monster rancher.) Monsters rule. (Monster Rancher.)

Smith begins his mission of vengance by broadcasting the following distress signal. “I am a survivor trying to play Monster Hunter on the Playstation. I am broadcasting on the  SNAP.COM frequency. If you are out there… if anyone is out there… I can provide flashbombs, I can provide traps, I can provide someone to play Resident Evil Outbreak with. If there’s anybody out there… anybody… please. You are not alone.”

The call is successful, but he goes on one little hunt and his mom goes loco and says “You’re moving with your uncle and auntie in Kokoto.” Here, he is taken in by the Hunter’s Guild and apprenticed to the brilliant but stoic Agent G. G is was a member of a band of gun-toting hunters called the Men In Black, but the group was disbanded after eight memebrs went insane trying to farm enough Basarios wings to make black gunner gear for everyone.

The guild inform Smith that he needs to learn skills such as Carrying, Armour +2, Wind Resistance and High Grade Ear Protection. Smith protests that he has no experience of these skills, but the Guild insist that all he has to do is pay them enough money and buy special packs of equipment from them, and he will be able to magically “Recover” them.

Smith’s quest to restore peace to the land is never fulfilled in this installment of what looks set to become a long-running franchise. The movie culminates with his reaching HR5, giving hundreds of thousands of Zenny to the Monster Hunter’s guild while all the time vehemently insisting to the press and public that he is not a monster hunter at all.
