Capcom may leave you enough money to eat
I’ve just heard that Monster Hunter G’s online play is going to be charged via a monthly fee, and could also have some kind of Wii points system to buy more time. What is this? I mean I know it’s not even going to be released over here, but I don’t think any other game on the Wii charges for online, and even XBox live is reasonable it that you can, you know, use any online XBox game with it. And this is for a game which is 4 years old. 4 years! Many games get reduced to about half price after 6 months if they haven’t faded out of public conciousness by then, but this is like releasing the original fable on the PS3, at full price. And then somehow bypassing any existing online infrastructure, and charging for online play. What the hell Capcom, what the hell.*
*Yeah, I know the existing MH online setup doesn’t work with friend codes, but come on.
Because people will still pay. Japanese gamers will, I’m sure still gladly pay for online time when it comes to any Monster Hunter game.
I already pre-ordered the game, but luckily for me, I could care less about online. I’d rather go it alone than with three other dudes playing as chicks using hammers.
But that’s just me.
i honestly don’t care about mhg on the wii. i’m not buying it (gasp!) and this just gives me more reason not to. I might buy MH3, but if capcom keeps screwing around with the MH series like this, I don’t see it ever booming in the western hemisphere.
I don’t like paying subscriptions for games i don’t play everyday for 5 hours.
Source?
Money.
It’s all about money.
And greed of it.
Capcom has become a little too greedy.
this is just a rumour you sweetheart
Edit (fresh): Unnecessary untargeted swearing reduced.
This is allegedly from a Capcom press release. I couldn’t find it though.
Also, I used the word *could*
Wait wait wait? Greed? Guys, c’mon. Capcom isn’t your childhood best friend because they happened to create a series of awesome games (and OKAMI, et al) – they’re a bussiness. Charging for online gameplay isn’t a direct insult the individual player, its a business plan to make money off a HUGE demographic (in Japan). If you owned Capcom, you’d do the same thing to milk any money you could, especially in an world economy that blows. You can’t call a business “too greedy”, its a business, they’re in existance to make money.
Also, exactly, this isn’t confirmed, its just a rumor.
